We started three learning centres at Kurari and Bhanpur villages on 3rd April, 2018. Two at Kurari and one at Bhanpur. Within few hours we enrolled 45×3=135 children in these centers. We have recruited following three teachers:
- Madhuri—She teaches at Bhanpur village. She is Intermediate and belongs to Kurari village.
- Dharmendra—- He teaches at Kurari village. He is Graduate and has taught for three years at govt primary school. He belongs to Kurari village.
- Sunita—She also teaches at Kurari village. She is Graduate and belongs to Chhawon village. She has taught for three months at public school.
Bhanpur Center —-Closed due to COVID
Community support and involvement for these centres is a highlight for this project. The community here is eager to educate their kids. All children and teachers are Dalit and they feel a strong bond with each other (Dalits are socially discriminated and poorest among poor) The community provided significant support towards teacher recruitment and class room setup. We are assured of the success of these projects with such an involved and receptive community.
