We at Chance Foundation are immensely pleased to announce the commencement of the study center in Pune slums that is projected to impact up to 250 children this year. The study center is in partnership with Door Step Schools (DSS) in the slum of Sangamwadi on Tadiwala road from the 1st of April, 2022
DSS held an inaugural event on 21st March 2022 with the support of Local corporator Mr. Pradeep Gaikwad. Approx.30 children, some parents, and a DSS implementation team attended the event. The teachers organized fun activities with the children after the inauguration. Since then, teachers have been conducting activities thrice weekly.
Due to the pandemic situation in India, many underprivileged children could not attend school and have low learning levels due to limited online access. This study center will attempt to bridge the gap and will help children get ready for regular school enrollment. We will conduct study classes to improve the learning levels of the children by enabling them to read fluently within 120d days. The study center will also focus on increasing awareness and improving parent involvement in the education of children
