It has been a packed first calendar quarter for the Chance Team. We started with preparation of our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch. This event is an all-time favorite amongst chance volunteers and members. Chance Board truly appreciates the tremendous support that all volunteers offer during the year and this gives them the opportunity to thank them in person. Chance volunteers get to relax, enjoy the memories of their hard work and learn how their efforts make an impact in the lives of the children that so need our help! None of this is possible without the dedication of a community that comes together as part of all the fundraisers.

Speaking of impact, Chance Board is very humbled to announce their latest project in the remote Kurari village in Bihar, India. This center will offer remedial classes to about 50 primary level students. This community is primarily comprised of laborers and small farmers who are below the poverty line. They welcome the assistance that Chance sponsored center will provide their children.

Chance Board met for an all-day working session in March. It was a very productive day. After the initial check-in and overview each sub team spent majority of the day focused on tackling the highest priority items in their area. Edit of by-laws, membership database improvements, event planning for the upcoming year, streamlining communications were some topics that saw some good progress. A huge shout out to all Board members who spent their entire Sunday working diligently!

The next few months bring a promise of warmth and plenty of opportunities for all to contribute in various Chance events – Chai for Chance, Chance Walk, annual board elections, Chance picnic and many more. Stay tuned and we look forward to seeing you in one or all the upcoming events!
