Walk for Chance: Chance Foundation organized its annual 5K walk/run fundraiser on Sep 16th. A group of near-100 participants and volunteers gathered at Purgatory Creek Park in Eden Prairie on a beautiful Fall Sunday morning. Enthusiasm was high from 3–year olds to the more senior participants. Meticulous planning by all volunteers ensured a smoothly run, successful event, as evidenced in these pictures:
Mollywood Productions’ stage play ‘Saree-ously Speaking? Uffda!’ produced by Kamal Aggarwal played to packed audiences in the 2018 Minnesota Fringe Festival. The play was directed and performed by a mixed cast of native-born and immigrant Minnesotans. The show deftly and humorously touched on pertinent themes of identity, assimilation and insecurity in a novel socio-economic milieu brought on by immigration and globalization. Mollywood Productions generously donated entire proceeds from the show to Chance Foundation. Kudos and many thanks, team! Saree-ously laudable.
Chance Foundation would encourage all previously members to renew their annual membership, and for other members of the community to join this organization in supporting under-privileged kids’ education. An annual membership of $120 ensures that 2 kids in India can get to complete their annual education. Another option to is enroll as Life Member. Please save the date for Chance Foundation’s biggest annual fundraising event, scheduled on December 8th at Park Center Senior High School at Brooklyn Park, MN. Entitled, “Miley Sur Mera Tumhara- Unity in Melody!”, the show follows the story of Manu, a young boy, who with his adoptive parents travels to India to seeks his roots. The production team was bowled over in the auditions by the community’s enthusiastic response and impressive talent. Practices have begun in earnest, and the performers can’t wait to present the delightful story of Manu.
